Local Help with Applying for State Benefits

Christian Job Corps of Gillespie County is happy to announce its community partnership with Texas Health & Human Services Commission to help residents with Your Texas Benefits.

Individuals needing food, cash or health care assistance from the state can come to the Job Resource Center to apply, renew or update their benefits online at YourTexasBenefits.com. By going online, residents can also check the status of benefits, schedule interviews, upload needed documents, report changes and print Medicaid cards.

“As a community partner, we want to help anyone who needs these services to put food on their table or access the health care their family needs. We know many in our community do not have a computer or internet at home. Others find the website intimidating and have concerns about making mistakes,” says J.D. Windham, CJCGC executive director.

At the Job Resource Center, residents can access a computer, printer and internet free of charge to manage his/her case. Staff are trained to confidentially help complete applications and manage cases. The Job Resource Center is located at 607 N Milam St (inside Memorial Presbyterian Church) and open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4 pm with no appointment necessary.

For more information contact the Job Resource Center by calling 830.998.6874, sending an email to director@cjcgc.org or visiting www.cjcgc.org/JRC.
